活动简介:Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are extremely short-duration, highly luminous radio transients in the universe. During propagation, their pulse signals are dispersed by free electrons along the line of sight; therefore, their dispersion measures encode information on free electrons in the intergalactic medium and on the cosmic baryon distribution, making FRBs a promising cosmological probe. To fully exploit the cosmological potential of FRBs, it is necessary to accurately characterize the statistical distribution of their dispersion measures. In this talk, I will introduce our improvements to existing distribution functions for the intergalactic-medium dispersion measure, and present constraints on the Hubble constant derived from FRB observations. We further find that the dispersion measure of the Milky Way halo exhibits significant sky anisotropy. Based on this result, we construct an FRB cosmological analysis method that does not require assuming a Galactic dispersion-measure model, thereby improving the robustness of cosmological constraints from FRBs.
